Audience:

This course is designed for finance professionals in asset management, hedge funds, corporates, or banking who need an understanding of foreign exchange.

Prerequisite:

None

Duration:

This is a half-day (3 hours of training)   course. The timing can be either 09:30 to 12:30 or 13:30 – 16:30.

Alternate timings can be arranged upon request. The course can be held on a date that suits you.

Location:

Our Finance: Introduction to Foreign Exchange course can be run at our training venue near Liverpool Street (London) or any preferred location in the UK or Europe. The training can also be delivered Online Remotely using online training platforms.

Introduction to Foreign Exchange Course Outline

FX market characteristics, market size, key market players and their roles

Foreign currency codes and understanding the hierarchy of currency quotes

Primary/secondary currency and quote interpretation

Spot quotes, bid/offer, currency pips and their value

Market maker vs market taker, which side am I on, examples and practice

Forward foreign exchange – calculations, market conventions and hedging uses

FX swaps, quoting conventions, market usage examples
